After four years away from his solo career, pop rock singer Adam Lambert released his newest single “Feel Something” last week. Fans immediately rejoiced, sharing their love for the singer’s new sound across social media.

Now, Lambert is giving his Glamberts something else to rejoice about. The star shared a live performance of the song on Wednesday (Feb. 27). Featuring Lambert, a few backup singers, and a simple stripped-down band, the star gave an emotional rendition of his soulful new track.

In a message to his fans on social media last week, Lambert revealed that the song was conceived from his own personal struggles with anxiety and depression over the last four years. “This was written about me climbing out of the low period, defying my disillusionment, owning my needs, and opening my heart,” he wrote. “Between frustrations with my career and many lost connections, I felt numb—and though I wanted to fall in love, I knew I wasn’t ready.”

The singer also teased that the track was going to “kick off this new era,” telling his fans that a new album was on the way. “The tracks will chronicle the journey of taking responsibility for my own happiness and strength, and searching for intimacy,” he wrote.
