After spending her whole career uplifting her fans and supporters, YouTube sensation Lily Singh turned to those same people for support. On Sunday (Feb. 24), the 30-year-old viral video-maker revealed to her fans on social media that she identifies as bisexual.

Singh, also known as "IISuperwomanII," posted a selfie on her Instagram, under which she listed a number of the labels that define her, including “female,” “coloured,” and for the first time, “bisexual.”

The star then went on to say that these labels had long been used to hold her back. “Throughout my life, these have proven to be obstacles from time to time,” she wrote. “But now I’m fully embracing them as my superpowers.”

In closing her message, Singh encouraged her fans to embrace their identities for what they were instead of hiding them. “No matter how many ‘boxes’ you check, I encourage you to do the same,” she wrote.

The viral sensation, who has over 14 million subscribers to her popular YouTube channel, received an immense response from both her fans and fellow creators, all congratulating her on her decision to come out. The star later took to Twitter to thank everyone for their overwhelming support. “Thank you so much for the love and positivity. Words can’t describe how much it means,” she wrote. “I appreciate you all. Group hug.”
