Troye Sivan has just been nominated for a Golden Globe for best original song in a motion picture for his track “Revelation” from Boy Erased. The song is a collaboration between Sivan and Jónsi of Sigur Ros, and was written for a specific scene in the film.

Sivan took to Twitter to express his excitement, with "GOLDEN GLOBE NOMINEE KHKGJTJFJGKGMHMHMGMHMG" being one of his more choice responses.

The singer later followed with another tweet promising a more fitting expression of appreciation. "Promise I'll say something eloquent and sweet about it soon but for now what the fuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" he wrote.

When writing "Revelation," Sivan explained that the song was inspired by a scene in the film when Jared (Lucas Hedges) has his first positive experience with another boy.

“God doesn't strike him down and the world doesn't fall apart. And maybe he even kind of enjoys it, and maybe it feels right for the first time,” Sivan explained. “The idea of that person being a revelation in your life, where you can kind of do something that feels so natural and so right and be fine on the other side, that was a really potent thing in my head.”

Boy Erased's Lucas Hedges also received a nomination for best performance by an actor in a motion picture in the drama category.
