Over the last few years, Troye Sivan has proven to be an artist of many talents. Along with being one of the preeminent pop entertainers of his generation, the 23-year-old is also an actor, racking up a number of film credits before his most recent, high-profile appearance in the critically acclaimed conversion therapy drama Boy, Erased.
Sivan can now also add "activist” to his list of talents. On The Tonight Show on Monday night (Nov. 12) to promote the film and his song with Charli XCX ("1999"), the actor spoke about how Boy, Erased should feel like an outdated film. “When I first read the script, I was like, ‘This is probably set in the ‘90s or something like that,’” he told host Jimmy Fallon. “It was set in 2004, and it’s still happening in 2018.”
