Kehlani performs onstage during the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards which broadcasted live on TBS, TNT, and truTV at The Forum on March 11, 2018 in Inglewood, Calif.

Kehlani took to social media on Friday (Oct. 12) to announce that she's four months pregnant, expecting a baby girl in 2019. In one tweet, she explained that her partner is her best friend and that he is “quite frankly the only man on earth i trust.”

Upon reading the news, a Twitter user juxtaposed an image of Kehlani showing off her pregnant belly with a Billboard news article where Kehlani opened up about her queerness. The tweet implied that they were confused as to how a queer woman could be pregnant.

“Imagine thinking queer means lesbian and either means unable to have babies," the singer responded with a laughing-crying emoji.

In April, the singer opened up about her sexuality on Twitter: "cuz i keep geddin asked.. i’m queer," she began in a series of tweets. "not bi, not straight. i’m attracted to women, men, REALLY attracted to queer men, non binary people, intersex people, trans people. lil poly pansexual papi hello good morning. does that answer your questions?"

In a subsequent tweet, Kehlani noted, "and since we on that... i’m the LEAST attracted to straight men, y’all really adorable sometimes tho. bisexual men really are little gifts from god tho."

And when asked why she chooses to use the word "queer" rather than "gay," Kehlani explained, "i felt gay always insisted there was still a line drawn as to which 'label' of human i was attracted when i really jus be walking around thinking ERRYBODY FINE."
