Acid Betty Discusses Her Love of Robyn & Touring With Jinkx Monsoon, Alaska and Latrice Royale: Watch

Acid Betty spoke with Billboard Pride during RuPaul’s DragCon 2018, discussing what music she is loving right now, when fans might be able to expect new music from her and which queens she thinks are the craziest to tour with.

Speaking of what music is currently on heavy rotation on her playlist, Acid Betty tells Billboard Pride editor Patrick Crowley, “Robyn, Robyn, Robyn, and waiting for Honey to come out by Robyn.”

She also notes that she loves “Promises” by Calvin Harris and Sam Smith, as well as the song’s accompanying music video. “I have a friend who’s a drag queen in that [video] and actually she’s a stylist for RuPaul’s Drag Race when they do promos,” she says. “And he started doing drag in one year, and he’s like the featured drag queen in that music video.”

Asked if she has any music of her own currently in the works, the drag queen says that while she does have some new music in the making, she doesn’t like to release things just because she has to, and that she prefers releasing things over time.

“I don’t want to say I do, because then people pressure me to get it out,” she continues, “But yes, I’m working on things, but I need to release it at the right time with the right people.”

In the interview, Acid Betty is also asked who the craziest queen is to tour with, and she replies that her top picks would be Jinkx Monsoon, Alaska and Latrice Royale.

When asked why she chose them, she replies with a huge laugh, “Booze, a lot of booze and the need to entertain, and three joints of marijuana. You choose who does what.”
