'Drag Race' Winner Aquaria on Her Beef with Bebe Rexha: 'The Hatchet, Consider It Buried'
During her stint on season 10 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, winner Aquaria made a name for herself as a queen who would do her best to keep her composure, but wasn’t afraid to pop off and call someone out if they were acting up. That trend continued after her win, with the queen often being cordial and kind, but occasionally getting fired up when she needed to.
One of the most memorable instances of Aquaria letting people have it was her well-documented public beef with pop singer Bebe Rexha. When the “Meant to Be” singer told her Twitter followers that the queens of season 10 acted “cold af” toward her at the VH1 Trailblazer Honors, Aquaria sent out a long series of tweets explaining that the girls never acted cold and that Rexha was upset that the queens didn’t “suck ur toes.”
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Aquaria said that she still disagrees with Rexha about the way she was treated but that she has no beef with the singer. “I really didn’t have any issue with her beyond the comments that she made,” she said. “I don’t think we’ve buried any sort of hatchet, but I am as cool as … something cold. Oh, I’m cold af!”
The queen said that since her fight with the star, she has been listening to Rexha’s newest album Expectations repeatedly, and she loves it. “I’m a huge fan of her new album … we love ‘Ferrari,’ we love ‘Mine,’” she said. “I guess this is the first public announcement that we do love the new Bebe Rexha album.”
Aquaria added that while she stands by the comments she made on Twitter, she is not holding that moment against the singer. “I’m sure she’s a lovely girl, it was just that one moment where I was like, ‘Uh, no,’” she said. “But yeah, the hatchet -- consider it buried.”
