Today, GLAAD, the world’s largest LGBTQ media advocacy organization, announced that fast-rising pop starlet Kim Petras will be performing at the 2018 GLAAD Gala San Francisco. The event, which celebrates storytellers who accelerate acceptance for the LGBTQ community, takes place Sept. 15 at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco.

“Kim Petras has provided much-needed visibility for the trans community since she first made global headlines by coming out and unapologetically sharing her story with the world,” said Anthony Ramos, GLAAD director of talent engagement. “Her energy, presence, and talent ensure that she will be a force for LGBTQ acceptance for years to come.”

GLAAD previously announced that RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Ross Mathews would be receiving the Davidson/Valentini Award at the event for his contributions in promoting equality and acceptance for the LGBTQ community.

Petras is also set to perform at the Billboard Hot 100 Fest on Aug. 18 and 19 alongside LGBTQ talent Kehlani, Halsey, Daya and Taylor Bennett.
