Harry Styles holds rainbow flags as he performs onstage during Harry Styles: Live On Tour - New York at Madison Square Garden on June 21, 2018 in New York City.

During his final tour stop in Los Angeles, Calif. on Saturday (July 14), Harry Styles paused to comment on a fan’s sign before launching into his One Direction hit “What Makes You Beautiful.” “Can I read this?” he asked the fan. “It says, ‘I’m gay and I love you.’”

Taking this in with a smirk, Styles then thanked the fan and said that he loved them as well. “I mean, we’re all a little bit gay, aren’t we?” Styles asked, eliciting an uproarious response from his audience.

Styles has been a known advocate of the LGBTQ community for years. At a recent tour stop, the singer helped one of his fans come out to her parents after reading a sign that said she wanted to do so. After learning the name of his fan’s mom, the singer shouted out, “Tina, she’s gay!”

Styles has also worn and waved LGBTQ pride flags at most of his tour stops this year, constantly making it clear that he supports his queer fans.
