Celebrities Celebrate Janet Mock's History-Making Directorial Debut on FX's 'Pose': See the Tweets

While FX’s Pose has already made history with the largest cast of transgender actors ever put on television, one episode in particular made history for a different reason. “Love Is the Message,” the show’s sixth episode, which aired Sunday night, was directed by Janet Mock -- making her the first trans woman of color to ever write and direct an episode of television.

Mock shared her gratitude across social media on Sunday night, tweeting out a photo of herself from the first evening on set of her directorial debut. “That smile hides my nerves about being the first trans woman of color to write & direct TV,” she wrote. “We are deserving of opportunity & more than capable.”

Viewers everywhere certainly took notice of Mock’s achievement. Along with numerous think pieces and thousands of tweets from fans of the show, a number of celebrities sent out their congratulations to Mock via Twitter last night. Here are just a few of their messages:

Pose airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on FX.
