Adam Rippon attends the 2018 TIME 100 Gala at Jazz at Lincoln Center on April 24, 2018 in New York City.

Adam Rippon bears his backside for the cover of ESPN The Magazine’s annual Body Issue, wearing ice skates and absolutely nothing else.

Fresh off the 2017 Winter Olympics in PyeoungChang, the skater posed gracefully as one of the fifteen athletes who are showing some skin for the publication's 2018 installment, including New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley and softball player Lauren Chamberlain.

In an interview, the bronze-medalist opens up about starving himself to stay thin, fighting off naysayers about the authenticity of his "shelf butt," and finding the strength to be vulnerable after coming out as gay in 2015.

“I couldn't have done this [shoot] while I was in the closet,” he told the magazine. “I think that with my experience of coming out, I felt so liberated in so many ways.”
