Ginger Minj, Eureka O'Hara, Shea Coulee & More Open Up About Dating as Drag Queens: Watch

In the second installment of Billboard Pride’s “Spillin’ the Tea” chat with Miz Cracker, Jasmine Masters, Tammie Brown, Shea Couleé, Ginger Minj and Eureka O'Hara, the RuPaul’s Drag Race alumni discuss what dating as famous drag queens is like. Plus, they play a raunchy game of “Never Have I Ever.”

Prompted by a question from Tammie Brown asking how being drag queens has impacted their dating lives, Ginger Minj shares a story about an incident that happened to her a few months after her appearance on season 7 of Drag Race.

“I was feeling my oats, as we all do on the road,” she shares. “And the one time in my life I tried to pretend to be a top, I met this boy and as we're going at it, he turns around and he goes, ‘I can't believe I'm getting fucked by Ginger Minj!’” And so she told him to leave.

“It was the strangest thing to me,” she continues, explaining that she didn’t date or hook up at all after that because she felt he was with her just because she was on television. She also makes note that when she met her husband, he didn’t know who she was and didn’t care at all about Drag Race. “That's what finally reinstated my faith in men,” she adds.

Eureka O'Hara tells a similar story, having entered the current season of Drag Race with a boyfriend she had met at a meet-and-greet. However, she soon realized that everything he discussed with her revolved around the show and her fellow contestants, and that experience was very damaging to her when it came to dating.

Shea Couleé, however, shares that drag has had the opposite impact on her dating life. Couleé explains that even before she appeared on the RuPaul-hosted show, doing drag gave her more confidence and made her feel more comfortable approaching men in bars. She met her current boyfriend of two years in one of those bars.

In the video, which you can watch above, the queens also play “Never Have I Ever,” in which Tammie Brown shares a story of spending a night in jail -- in full drag -- following a night out with fellow queen Raven.
