Tove Lo Recruits Charli XCX, Icona Pop & More For Titillating 'Bitches' Video: Watch

Tove Lo gets down and dirty in the video her new feature-heavy remix of “Bitches,” starring Charli XCX, Icona Pop, Elliphant, and ALMA. The gang plays professionals hired to provide Broad City’s Paul W. Downs with the full rundown on “going down” to please his girlfriend, played by actress Jessy Hodges. And they do quite a meticulous job.

Comical asides interplay throughout the video showing the singers strap the couple into BDSM accessories, demonstrate tips and tricks for proper tongue technique and, of course, take a break to fuel up on some well-earned sushi takeout. All of which fittingly reaches a climax as Downs’ character shows what he has learned, ducking offscreen under his partner as the girl group dances around in a flood of multicolored neon lights.

“Tove is one of our best friends and when she reached out it was a no brainer,” Icona Pop said in a statement. "Everyone on this track is so different. All are boss ladies in our own way. Together we felt like Spice Girls 2018 on set.”

Joining ranks with songs like “Lady Wood” and “Disco Tits,” “Bitches” and its accompanying provocative nature are nothing new to the Sweden-native. Tove Lo is notorious for incorporating themes of sexual liberation and queer identity frequently in her work. To her, in a battle against relentless and irrational hate, creating candidly queer, dance-centric pop music may be her most suitable weapon, as she explained in a love letter addressed to the LGBTQ community for Billboard.

“There are many ways to fight. I love to do so via celebration.” she wrote. “I’ve come across many prude ignorants, who think Pride is nothing but a big dance party filled with glitter, rainbows and thongs (like there’s anything wrong with that?!). I can’t wait for these people to realize. And when they do, they’ll be welcomed with open arms.”
