Monét X Change Dukes It Out on Twitter With Azealia Banks: 'Obscurity Is Where You Shall Exist'

Azealia Banks told her fans via Twitter over the weekend that she was seeking litigation against RuPaul for his allegedly stealing of one of her beats, and the rapper didn't stop there. In a series of tweets posted throughout Sunday and Monday (June 3 and 4), she responded to fans and critics commenting on her feud with the reality show star by doubling down on her disdain for RuPaul and Drag Race.

One of those critics she responded to was season 10 queen Monét X Change. The queen, who went home in the latest episode of Drag Race, tweeted that she was done performing her mix of Banks’ music at her shows, ending the tweet by calling the fellow New Yorker “rotted TRASH.” Banks responded in typical fashion, saying that Monét’s “crotch is rotting and fermenting under that sour mildew ass girdle.” She signed off with, “I do not give a goddamn.”

Monét X Change, however, got the last word in on this Twitter fight. Retweeting Banks’ reply, Monét first let her know that her reads weren’t clever or cute. “Good one Azealia,” she wrote. “Gotta love a tired bitch with preschool reads.”

The queen went on to criticize Banks’ treatment of the community she belongs to, and told her that if she kept down this path, she’d be dropped by her queer fans. “Do you not realize that the LGBTQIA+ Community is the ONLY reason you have a career?” she asked the rapper. “The hetero community wasn’t checkin for yo ass before this debacle, and they won’t after. Obscurity is where you shall exist.”

Banks’ current debacle all started on Saturday when she tweeted out that she had RuPaul’s American album removed from Spotify due to a claim that the queen ripped off her song “The Big Big Beat” and translated it into his song “Call Me Mother.” As of Tuesday, American is once again available for streaming on Spotify — RuPaul tweeted the news out to fans early Tuesday morning.
