Gay Twitter has embraced pop sensation Hayley Kiyoko as their one true savior, Lesbian Jesus. But if we’re going to start giving out titles to gay celebrities, who else deserves to be celebrated as a gay icon? Samira Wiley has now answered that question.

The Handmaid’s Tale actress made her first appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday (April 17), greeting the host with all of the excitement you would expect. But as DeGeneres started to thank her for coming, Wiley told the host that they’d met before.

“I met you really briefly one time,” she recounted, her voice quivering. “I know you don’t remember, because you’re Ellen, but it meant a lot to me because you’re lord of the lesbians.”

The host laughed and graciously accepted her new title, and followed up by asking Wiley where the two had met before. “Probably at a lesbian event,” the actress responded. “I go to those sometimes, I see you at those.”

Wiley also talked with Ellen about spending her recent one-year wedding anniversary with her wife, Lauren Morelli, at Disneyland. “We are both really big kids,” she said. “And keeping with the kid theme, I, turning 31, wanted to go to Dave & Buster’s. That might still be a thing a 13-year-old may not even wanna do, but you turn 21 and you realize, ‘Oh this is how it’s supposed to be!’”
