Thursday night’s (April 5) episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race had a lot going on -- an over-the-top mini-challenge, significant drama between queens Aquaria and The Vixen, some hilarious advertisements for fake dating apps, and an amazing Lip Sync for Your Life performance.
But halfway through the episode, viewers witnessed a moving yet heartbreaking moment when Dusty Ray Bottoms, one of this season’s queens from New York, opened up about coming out to his parents. The moment came after fellow contestant Blair St. Clair mentioned how supportive her conservative Christian parents are of her career.
“I find that so interesting because your parents are so supportive of you and your drag,” Dusty said to Blair. “My parents have never seen me in a show. I don’t think they’ll ever come.”
