In this year’s annual round of festivals, inclusivity has not necessarily been at the forefront of booking talent. According to a data report from Pitchfork, only 14 percent of acts slated for upcoming festivals are female, with an additional 12 percent of acts showcasing mixed gender or gender-nonbinary talent.

The L.A. Pride 2018 festival, however, is different. Christopher Street West, the organization responsible for the annual festival, announced the next wave of artists performing this year, adding Kim Petras, Icona Pop, Eve, Natalia Jimenez and Keri Hilson to their roster. The artists will be joining headliners Tove Lo and Kehlani for the “unofficial kick-off” to Pride season.

“2018 is already proving to be the year of the woman,” the festival’s programming lead Gregory Alexander said in a statement. “Female empowerment is more important than ever. These beautifully diverse artists embody everything that LA Pride 2018 represents, a celebration of self-expression and authenticity.”

Icona Pop and Kim Petras will take to the Park Stage on Saturday, June 9, while Keri Hilson will perform that evening on the Boulevard Stage. On Sunday, June 10, Eve will also perform at the Park Stage as Natalia Himenez entertains the audience at the Plaza Stage.

Kim Petras was listed as one of the emerging LGBTQ artists of 2018 by Billboard Pride, while groups like Icona Pop and Keri Hilson have seen significant mainstream success, each with Billboard Hot 100 top 10 hits under their belt.

L.A. Pride 2018 will take place June 9-10, 2018. Tickets are on sale now at LAPride.org
