When celebrating the 50th anniversary of a landmark project like The Boys in the Band, it’s important to go big.

That’s why when it was announced that stars like Zachary Quinto, Jim Parsons, Andrew Rannells and Matt Bomer would be joining the cast of the Broadway revival of Mart Crowley’s 1968 play, fans were naturally excited.

In a photo shared over the weekend, the production's nine-person cast -- also featuring Robin De Jesús, Tuc Watkins, Brian Hutchison, Charlie Carver and Michael Benjamin Washington -- was shown in their first rehearsal.

“The party is just getting started…,” the caption read. Check it out below.

The cast members also posted the photo themselves, commemorating their first day working directly with one another. “These dummies,” Andrew Rannells wrote on his Instagram. “This is going to be fun.”

The play is centered around a group of gay men in 1960s Manhattan all getting together to celebrate the birthday of their friend Harold (played by Quinto). As the plot develops and the party continues, old wounds from each of the characters’ past are resurfaced, forcing each individual to deal with their personal demons.

The show will be directed by Tony-winner Joe Mantello, and produced by Ryan Murphy. “We’re gonna pound the door in a little bit and show you how we really are, and not be afraid of being gay, and not trying to hide it or disguise it” Murphy said in a teaser video for the show.

The Boys in the Band will begin previews on April 30 and make its Broadway debut on May 31.
