Troye Sivan attends The BRIT Awards 2018 held at The O2 Arena on Feb. 21, 2018 in London, England.

When creating a film about a gay teenager dealing with coming out of the closet, it would be quite the oversight to not include Australian pop star and queer sensation Troye Sivan on the soundtrack.

The curators for the Love, Simon soundtrack thought the same thing, as Sivan appears on the album with a track titled “Strawberries & Cigarettes.” Other contributors to the soundtrack include Khalid, , Bleachers, The 1975 and more.

The synth-pop slow jam follows a relationship that has ended, but Sivan can’t stop thinking about it. “Long nights, daydreams/ Sugar and smoke rings, I’ve been a fool/ But strawberries and cigarettes always taste like you,” he croons in the chorus.

Sivan originally wrote the song for his debut album, Blue Neighborhood, after a writing session with superstar producer Jack Antonoff (who is featured throughout the Love, Simon soundtrack). Sivan said that working with Antonoff was “the most nervous I’ve ever been for a session.”
