Fans React to Harry Styles' New Song 'Medicine' & Call It a 'Bisexual Anthem'

Fans of Harry Styles have been speculating for years that the singer may be queer. While Styles has never publicly stated whether or not he is LGBTQ, fans have used context clues and in songs and interviews as evidence of the pop star’s alleged queerness.

During a live performance on Tuesday night, Styles debuted an unreleased song called “Medicine,” and one set of lyrics in particular has his fans in a whirlwind. In a verse, Styles appears to sing “The boys and the girls are here/ I mess around with him/ And I'm OK with it." (The exact lyric is unclear from the clip, and some have fans have also interpreted the second line to be "I mess around a bit").

Twitter users immediately called the song a bisexual anthem, claiming that these lyrics confirm the singer’s sexuality. However, Styles has said in previous interviews that he does not feel the need to label his sexuality. “Everyone should just be who they want to be,” he said. “It's tough to justify somebody having to answer to someone else about stuff like that.”

Still, that did not prevent fans from claiming Styles as their new queer icon. Here are just a few of Billboard Pride’s favorite fan reactions to Harry Styles’ new song “Medicine.”
