Parties can be expensive, and Ellen DeGeneres -- who just celebrated her 60th birthday with a star-studded event -- knows it. After her own extravaganza, she shared advice for fans to save some coin on their own celebrations: “Here’s a money saving tip for you: don’t hire a band. Invite all your musician friends,” the comedian said on her talk show. “It turns out they’ll just perform for free, especially when there’s Don Julio involved.”

The talk show host bragged about an all-star lineup that included P!nk, Pharrell Williams, Melissa Etheridge, John LegendFrench Montana and Alessia Cara, all of whom she said performed for free.

DeGeneres also recommended inviting Reese Witherspoon to your party: “Now I see why she’s such an amazing producer. She’s the one who -- and I won’t say forced -- but strongly suggested everyone should perform.”

Degeneres also joked that one particular celebrity was at the bar all night long: Oprah.

Check out a clip from The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which features P!nk serenading DeGeneres with “What About Us” between sips of white wine.
