Shangela of 'RuPaul's Drag Race' Talks Shania Twain, Bruno Mars & More: Watch
The third season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars finally begins tonight (Jan. 25). So to kick off the new batch of queens returning to the workroom, Billboard Pride sat down with a few of the queens battling it out for the All Stars crown, including the queen of many Drag Race seasons, Shangela Laquifa Wadley.
The song Shangela currently has on repeat, since you asked, is Bruno Mars and Cardi B’s “Finesse” remix, while her favorite music to perform to is anything by Beyoncé – especially Queen Bey's 2013 Super Bowl medley. “I’ve been doing that once since [then],” she says, “and it still makes coins!”
Asked who she would love to give a drag makeover to, Shangela says she would pick former democratic presidential candidate Hilary Clinton, explaining, “I felt for her when she didn’t win, and I think with the right drag makeover, the right lashes, she could come back in 2020.” The drag queen also reveals that the first concert she ever attended was a Shania Twain gig that she won tickets on the radio for. “I went, and it was lovely,” she shares. “And she brought a horse on stage, too.”
You can watch the full video interview with Shangela above where she reveals her favorite song by a Drag Race sister, her favorite shows on television right now, and dishes on her first-ever gay crush, Will Smith.
The third season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars airs on Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST on VH1.
