Alaska, Courtney Act & Willam Reteam for Eye-Popping 'AAA' Video: Premiere
You can't have Pride Month without bouncy pop jams, and the AAA Girls -- Alaska Thunderfuck, Courtney Act and Willam, all RuPaul's Drag Race alumni -- are serving up a proper earworm with new track "AAA." And to accompany the bop, the AAA Girls are delivering emojis, wig changes, dance instructions, a trip to American Apparel, stunts and shenanigans in an eye-popping video for "AAA" that Billboard is premiering below.
With hilarious lyrics ("We don’t just sing songs in gay bars / We also fix automotive cars") and a cheeky pre-chorus ("please don't bore us get to the chorus"), "AAA" (already on iTunes) comes from the trio's upcoming debut album Access All Areas, slated for a summer release. The song itself is written by Alaska Thunderfuck, Courtney Act, Willam, and Sam Sparro; Sparro, who did the Grammy-nominated "Black and Gold," also produced "AAA."
"A few years ago, Willam, Alaska, and I, recorded a song together and since then, the fandom would not let us quit. Two holiday tracks later, we give you the first single off our debut album," Courtney says. "It’s time to let you Access All Areas for you aural delight.” Adds Alaska: "There may also be some surprise cameos from some of our famous friends."
Aside from hitting the studio with Alaska and Courtney, Willam recently sat down with Billboard, Tamar Braxton and four other RuPaul's Drag Race alums to discuss everything from Stonewall to LGBTQ icons to strange fan experiences. Watch the roundtable chats with Willam, Manila Luzon, Derrick Barry, Mariah Balenciaga and Pandora Boxx below.
