Angel Olsen, Jay Som, Sudan Archives, Soccer Mommy and others are on "Good Music to Avert the Collapse of American Democracy."

Good Music To Avert The Collapse Of American Democracy, a 40-track album featuring previously-unreleased recordings by everyone from Paramore's Hayley Williams and R.E.M. to Phoebe Bridgers, Death Cab For Cutie and many more will be available for 24 hours on Bandcamp on Friday (Sept. 4).

Produced by author David Eggers, artist managers Jordan Kurland and Darius Zelkha, Christian Stavros and indie label head Josh Rosenfeld, the album will go on sale for one day as part of the platform's ongoing Bandcamp Fridays initiative. One hundred percent of net sales will go directly to voting rights nonprofit Fair Fight, which was founded by one-time Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams to help ensure fair elections and encourage voter participation in elections around the country.

"It’s going to come down to bringing out and protecting the vote this fall, so the work Fair Fight does is crucial," Eggers said in a statement. "Jordan and I figured a painless way to raise some money would be to ask musicians to donate unreleased tracks, people pay a few bucks for them, and maybe we can edge toward a functioning democracy again."

Other artists contributing a combination of demos, live recordings and covers to the project include Tegan and Sara, Best Coast, Courtney Barnett, Angel Olsen, Grouplove, The Decemberists and Weyes Blood, with cover art by Shepard Fairey -- the same artist who created the iconic "HOPE" imagery for Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign.
