The 2020 Democratic National Convention officially kicks off Monday evening (Aug. 17), and will run through Thursday (Aug. 20) in preparation for the forthcoming presidential election.

During the convention, which is set to be held almost entirely virtually, Joe Biden will officially accept the Democratic party's nomination for president with Kamala Harris as his running mate.

Monday night's schedule will include speeches by the likes of Michelle Obama, New York governor Andrew Cuomo, and former presidential candidates Bernie Sanders and Amy Klobuchar, plus opening night musical performances from Maggie Rogers and Leon Bridges.

Throughout the convention's four days, A-list musical acts including The Chicks, John Legend, Billie Eilish and Jennifer Hudson will also take the stage between speeches by Democratic leaders like Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Elizabeth Warren and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Biden is scheduled to deliver his own speech accepting the party's nomination on Thursday (Aug. 20), while Harris -- the first female candidate of color to ever earn a spot on either major political party's ticket -- will speak the night before (Aug. 19) followed by former President Obama.

The Democratic National Convention is slated to air each night from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET, with a multitude of ways to watch the political action. Voters can catch an hour of highlights and main events every evening on ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox News at 10 p.m. ET. Meanwhile, the complete primetime block will air in its entirety on CNN, MSNBC, C-SPAN and PBS.

In conjunction with its unprecedented virtual setting, the 2020 convention can also be live-streamed on the official DNC website, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Twitch. Streaming services including Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video and Roku will additionally make the four-day event available on their platforms as well.
