Taylor Swift Has an Election Day Request in New Instagram Story: 'Make Change by Voting'

Taylor Swift ramped up her political game once more by reminding people to vote in Tuesday’s (Nov. 6) big election. While the “Look What You Made Me Do” singer had kept her political thoughts to herself for years, she emerged an active voice during the election cycle in October.

Swift most recently took to Instagram to plea with fans that they hit the polls one last time.

“I’m seeing a lot of underestimation of young voters in this new generation who now have the right to vote just in the last couple of years,” said Swift in her Story, “but these are people who grew up post 9/11. They grew up with school shooting drills at their schools. These are people who want to vote.”

“It’s not enough to just want change,” Swift continued, “It’s not enough to just want to vote. You have to go and make change by voting.”

Swift closed her story by asking fans to tag her in photos of them voting.

The pop singer’s Instagram bio reflects her plea. “GO VOTE! SERIOUSLY! DO IT!” it says. Swift has already shared a handful of her fans’ post-poll photos to her Instagram story.
