Lin-Manuel Miranda, Bette Midler & More Celebrities React to Supreme Court Ruling in Favor of Travel Ban
On Tuesday (June 26), the Supreme Court upheld President Trump's controversial travel ban in a 5-4 decision that will regulate immigration from Iran, North Korea, Syria, Libya, Yemen, Somalia and Venezuela.
The decision ruled that Trump's ban is constitutional, and found that developing such a law fell within the president's authority. Celebrities from Lin-Manuel Miranda to Morgan Freeman took to Twitter to voice their opinions following the monumental decision.

Shameful day for the Supreme Court. https://t.co/mpoMvG9dBt— ---- Lin-Manuel Miranda --️-- (@Lin_Manuel) June 26, 2018
The protesting of the SCOTUS decision is admirable. I only wish the same passion was evident at the polls last November, when we were electing the President who would appoint the next Justice (Merrick Garland debacle notwithstanding). Let us hope the turnout is better this fall.— Seth MacFarlane (@SethMacFarlane) June 26, 2018

If it walks like a Muslim ban and quacks like a Muslim ban, then this Supreme Court decision is ducked up.— Stephen Colbert (@StephenAtHome) June 26, 2018
The Supreme Court upholds the travel ban. This is devastating. This is happening because @SenateMajLdr stole a Supreme Court Justice. REMEMBER THIS in November. Voting is our best defense. Please #VOTE #today— Debra Messing (@DebraMessing) June 26, 2018
Japanese Americans were interned in camps during WW2. Innocent US citizens had their lives destroyed. All for national security fears. Well here we go again. With camps, kids being separated and now the Muslim Ban. Shameful days. #TravelBan— Wajahat Ali (@WajahatAli) June 26, 2018
Most amazing thing is even Trump is surprised (Wow!) that conservatives were able to steal Obama's SCOTUS pick and start truly MAKING AMERICAN WHITE AGAIN! This is a very sad day for our beautiful country. Huge step back towards much darker days. https://t.co/U7dfWNvais— Morgan J. Freeman (@mjfree) June 26, 2018
Travel ban is born of this president’s xenophobia. Today’s Supreme Court ruling could further encourage fear and hatred among his followers. It also makes clear that we need laws to govern a tyrannical president— Mia Farrow (@MiaFarrow) June 26, 2018
