MTV is bringing back its beloved TRL franchise on Tuesday night (Sept. 27) for a one-hour election-year special entitled Total Registration Live in honor of National Voter Registration Day. The show will feature appearances by Ty Dolla $ign, Vic Mensa, Fifth Harmony's Camila Cabello and director Joss Whedon, as well as actress Natalia Dyer, singer/actor Mack Wilds and Kendall Jenner.
Ty is slated to perform a trio of songs from his Campaign mixtape: "No Justice," "Campaign" and "Zaddy." The show -- aimed at getting Millennial voters to register to vote in November's presidential election -- will air at 6 p.m. E.T. live on MTV, MTV.com, the MTV app and the network's Facebook and YouTube pages. Among the issues slated to be tackled during the special are: sexual assault, national security, gender inequality, student debt, immigration reform, racial inequality and Islamophobia. The event will take place less than 24 hours after the first presidential debate between Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump.
