Welcome to #TBT Mixtape, Billboard's new series showcasing artists' very own throwback-themed playlists, exclusive to Billboard's Spotify account. The curated set features the artists' favorite tracks from their youth and childhood.

This week's spin comes from country star Thomas Rhett. After some major personal milestones -- including welcoming the birth of his second child Ada James Akins with wife Lauren Akins last month, joining the couple's daughter Willa Gray who they adopted earlier this year from Uganda, Rhett is prepping the release of his latest LP, aptly titled LIFE CHANGES, out tomorrow (Sept. 8) via The Valory Music Co.

The boldest record of his career, the set stretches his sound to include coming-of-age ballads, raucous rock-leaning anthems, and EDM-influenced pop & R&B-tilted slow jams. "I am and will always be a country artist,” Thomas Rhett says. "It's who I am, it's in my blood. I will always try to push boundaries because that rebellious side has been in me since I was a kid. My voice and my journey that inspired these songs is the glue that makes this album cohesive. This is where I'm at musically, and these are my stories."

The set also marks Rhett's first time in the producer’s char, alongside Dann Huff and Jesse Frasure, as well as new collaborators Julian Bunetta and Joe London.

On the eve of the album's release, Rhett looks back with this week's #TBT Mixtape, spanning from the tracks of his youth to his current chart-topping favorites. Give it a spin below, and also check out two throwback snaps of the star from his childhood, and early days with now-wife Akins.
