Brie Larson Surprised Audiences at 'Captain Marvel' Opening Weekend Screenings: Watch
Marvel's latest marquee superhero(ine) shocked a bunch of theatergoers when she crashed a few Captain Marvel screenings during the film's opening weekend.
On Saturday (March 9), Marvel Studios shared footage of Brie Larson -- who plays Carol Danvers, a.k.a Vers/Captain Marvel, in the action-packed sci-fi blockbuster -- greeting audiences who turned out to see the film on its first two nights in theaters.
Clad in a custom sweatsuit that borrowed its insignia from the intense, element-defying combat uniform she wore in the film, Larson, carrying a soft drink with her face on it, strolled up to the front of the crowd and thanked them for supporting the movie.
"I heard that I was on the cups and popcorn, and wanted to see for myself!" she joked upon entering one of the theaters she visited to ensuing cheers.
Captain Marvel is on track to clear $155 million for its opening weekend, making it the second-best opening for a comic book adaptation of all time after Black Panther (and the seventh-best opening for a Marvel film).
