Leslie Odom, Jr. attends the 11th Annual Stand Up for Heroes benefit, presented by the New York Comedy Festival and The Bob Woodruff Foundation, at the Theater at Madison Square Garden on Nov. 7, 2017 in New York City.

Focus Features' Harriet Tubman biopic is adding Leslie Odom Jr. and Joe Alwyn.

They will join Tony winner Cynthia Erivo, who is set to play the famous freedom fighter, and will lead a cast that also includes Jennifer Nettles and Clarke Peters.

Harriet, which is set to film next month in Virginia, will track Tubman's journey from escaped slave to worker on the Underground Railroad, successfully leading dozens of slave to freedom from the pre-Civil War era south.

Kasi Lemmons will direct from a screenplay she co-wrote with Gregory Allen Howard. Debra Martin Chase with Martin Chase Productions, Daniela Taplin Lundberg with Stay Gold Features and Gregory Allen Howard will produce.

Josh McLaughlin, Focus Features president of production, will oversee the production.

Odom Jr. was last seen in Fox's Murder on the Orient Express and recently wrapped production of John Ridley's Needle in a Timestack. He is repped by CAA and Jackoway Austen.

Alwyn, who broke out in Ang Lee's Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk, is set for two awards hopefuls -- Boy Erased and Mary Queen of Scots. He is repped by CAA, the U.K.'s Independent and Peikoff Mahan.
