Mariah Carey attends The 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Jan. 7, 2018 in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Mariah's into it, but it would have to involve diamonds, lots of diamonds.

"Drop your weapon, darling" is exactly what you would hear if NBC executives turn their recent joke into a reality in the new year.

Today show co-host Al Roker hit the red carpet on Sunday night (Jan. 7) before the 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards to interview celebs, including two 90's icons who also happen to be neighbors, Mariah Carey and Sharon Stone

Carey and Stone gave a hilarious dual interview before the ceremony which led viewers thirsting for more from the glittering dynamic duo, prompting NBC to tweet out a funny joke about "developing a buddy cop pilot" for the two iconic stars.

Carey got the joke and shared some equally silly demands of her own for the potential television drama -- one that certainly could become a smash hit if further pursued -- replying to NBC "only if we can alter the uniforms and wear diamonds as well."

Fans loved the idea, with one user tweeting "IM HERE FOR IT" and another speaking directly to Mariah saying "You’re Mariah, you can do ANYTHING you want."

Although it seems unlikely for the two icons to team up for a television show given their busy schedules and other commitments, it isn't the first time that a tweet with a fictional scenario prompted two stars to work together.
