Lenny Kravitz attends the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards red carpet at Prudential Center on Aug. 26, 2019 in Newark, New Jersey.

"Dude, I’m just trying to get in the next Magic Mike," Kravitz jokes to Tatum, who's reportedly dating Lenny's daughter Zoe.

When Lenny Kravitz posted a photo of his enviable abs on Wednesday (Sept. 29), Channing Tatum -- someone who knows a little something about six-packs -- was clearly impressed.

"Good god man!" the actor commented on the Instagram pic of an open-shirted Kravitz. "What are you eating or what’s in the water or the genes. It’s not natural. Do you just do abs like all day?"

The 57-year-old rock star had the perfect response for the Magic Mike star/producer. "Dude, I’m just trying to get in the next Magic Mike. Any connections?"

The original 2012 film -- which also spawned the 2015 sequel Magic Mike XXL -- was based in part on Tatum's experiences as an 18-year-old stripper in Tampa, Fla.

The possibility of Kravitz starring in a Magic Mike threequel has been a running joke between him and his daughter, Zoe Kravitz -- who just so happens to be reportedly dating Tatum at the moment. When Kravitz posted a similarly revealing photo back in July, Zoe commented, "you auditioning for MM3?" Lenny replied: "I've been ready!" Tatum even chimed in on the July post, writing, "Will be calling you shortly to get into your schedule my friend."

Kravitz broke through as a musician in the '90s, racking up No. 1 Mainstream Rock Airplay hits like "Are You Gonna Go My Way?" and "Fly Away" and winning four consecutive Grammy Awards for best male rock vocal performance (1998-2001). He has since established his acting career, including his role as Cinna in the Hunger Games films, so he could make a perfect fit if Tatum gets the stripper crew back together.
