The officially-licensed release features a mini caricature version of the superstar in a "Diamond Glitter Santa" outfit, which takes cues from the festive dresses Carey sported in her Apple TV Christmas special last year. Silver snow boots and a necklace-style collar complete the ensemble, while Carey's dramatic makeup and hair-over-the-eyes look is reminiscent of her album cover for 2002's Charmbracelet.
The vinyl figurine sits inside a collectible box, which borrows the same font and branding from MC's 1994 Merry Christmas album. Funko lists the Mariah Carey Funko Pop as part of their "Diamond Collection," which seems like a fitting tribute to the singer's two diamond-certified albums -- Music Box and Daydream, respectively (a Funko rep says the "Diamond Collection" is just a name the company gives to "glittered" figurines).
The arrival of this official Mariah Carey Funko Pop comes a year after the singer responded to a fan's bootleg (and let's face it, not great) Christmas ornament, which he compared to the singer's likeness. "This is... Not approved," Carey tweeted at the fan, alongside a #NotImpressed emoji.
While the totally unapproved and seemingly unauthorized Mariah ornament is still available online (and still under the singer's name, natch) Carey has since hinted that she is working on new holiday merchandise of her own.
The singer and songwriter previously collaborated with Swarovski in 2019 on a crystal-embellished ornament, created to celebrate the 25th anniversary of her enduring holiday hit, "All I Want for Christmas is You." The collectible Swarovski keepsake is still available online at Amazon.
The Mariah Carey Funko Pop figurine, meantime, retails for $13.99 and is available to pre-order now on Amazon.com, with an official release date of December 10th. The Mariah Funko Pop is an Amazon exclusive, so you won't find it anywhere else. See more details here.
