"Get The Look" is Billboard Style's newest series, where the industry's most coveted fashion stylists, designers, makeup artists, hair stylists and influencers break down the eye-catching red carpet and music video looks from your favorite celebrities. The best part? You can create them right at home.

Scrolling through your Instagram feed looking for hair inspiration probably often proves fruitless because, let's face it: Unless you have a glam squad to help you out, it's pretty difficult to actually recreate those sleek and shiny looks on your own. Styling your hair for a special event, night out, or date can be a daunting task -- and let's not even think about doing it for your day-to-day activities.

Luckily, celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton is here to rescue you. His skilled hands have touched the heads of almost all of your favorite artists, including Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, Ariana Grande, Kim Kardashian-West, and many more.

Below, Appleton chatted with Billboard Style about five of his favorite year-round hairstyles that are easy to recreate on your own -- and would be perfect for New Year's Eve festivities, too!

Snatched Ponytail

Why Appleton Likes It: "This is a versatile look that can be worn in many ways, [whether] it's to run an errand or [go for a] chic night out."

How To Get It: Prep the hair with a smoothing product like Color Wow's Dream Coat or Bumble and bumble.'s Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Heat/UV Protective Primer. Blow dry the hair back and up in the direction of the ponytail. Once dry, add a flexible but strong hairspray -- try out Color Wow's Cult Favorite Hair Spray or TRESemmé's Compressed Micro Mist Level 3 Hair Spray -- to the root area while brushing the hair in the direction of the pony. After the hair is taught, wrap a hair tie or bungee to secure the pony in place. Afterwards, you can smooth the hairline and any bumps along the hair with a toothbrush, creating a more snatched and smooth look.

Bouncy Blowout

Why Appleton Likes It: "It's the perfect style to start the week with [because it can] evolve into any of the other looks [on this list as your hair gets dirtier throughout the week]."

How To Get It: Apply a smoothing product like Color Wow's Dream Coat or Ouai's Leave-In Conditioner and begin blow drying the hair with a big round brush. (Appleton recommends using the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer.) Direct the hair nozzle down the hair shaft and mold with the heat of the dryer while wrapping it around the round brush. Continue until the hair is completely dry and smoothed out.

Wet Look

Why Appleton Likes It: "It can give any outfit an iconic feel."

How To Get It: Start out by applying a generous amount of a glossy hair cream -- try out Color Wow's Pop & Lock or Oribe's Supershine Moisturizing Cream -- onto dry hair. Wrap the hair around a double-prong curling iron like the Nalu Waver to give the hair a more natural curl that has movement. (If a double-prong iron looks a little intimidating, you can use a deep waver like the Bed Head A Wave We Go Adjustable Deep Waver instead.) Once the curls are complete, add more of the glossy cream as needed to create more of a wet appearance to the curls.

Biblical Wave

Why Appleton Likes It: "This is a more modern approach to the beachy wave; it's not something you see every day."

How To Get It: Apply a smoothing product like Color Wow's Dream Coat or R+Co's Park Ave Blow Out Balm and blow dry the hair smooth. While doing so, focus on taking the volume out of the root area. Use a three-barrel crimper like Revlon's Jumbo 3-Barrel Hair Waver starting two inches away from the scalp and work your way to the ends of the hair. Afterwards, break up the curls with a texturizing spray -- try out Color Wow's Raise The Root or Amika's Un.Done Volume & Matte Texture Spray -- and seal the look with a shine spray. Appleton's favorite is the Color Wow Extra Mist-ical Shine Spray, or you can try Wella's EIMI Shine Glam Mist.)

Glass Bob

Why Appleton Likes It: "The glass bob is super chic and is a modern take on the lob [long bob]."

How To Get It: Start by prepping the hair with a serum or moisturizing cream that has a heat protectant. (Check out the Living Proof Restore Instant Protection or Moroccanoil's Perfect Defense Heat Protectant.) Blow dry the hair smooth with a slight inward bend at the ends. Follow through with a flat iron to give a more sleek appearance. Finish with your choice of a shine spray and light hair spray to keep the look in place.
