Listen to Brooklyn Indie Pop Duo Haerts' #TBT Mixtape, an Ode to Their 16-Year-Old Selves

Welcome to #TBT Mixtape, Billboard's series that showcases artists' very own throwback-themed playlists exclusive to Billboard's Spotify account. The curated set features the artists' favorite tracks from their youth and childhood.

This week's spin comes from Haerts. After first gaining popularity back in 2013 with breakthrough hit "Wings," the Brooklyn indie pop duo are in the midst of a major second act this year after inking a new deal with indie imprint Arts & Crafts (Feist, Deer Tick) for their forthcoming sophomore full-length LP, out later this year. The set's first single "Your Love" even netted the German-American outfit a recent synch on the "13 Reasons Why" Season 2 soundtrack.

Today, they're looking back to their roots, with this week's #TBT Mixtape, featuring the tracks that they first bonded over when they were teenagers -- from Buffalo Springfield and Patti Smith to Janis Joplin and Tracy Chapman.

“These are the songs we grew up with together," they share. "It’s what we listened to over the years from when we were 16 years old. When we started working on the new album, we were thinking a lot about how music has always connected us. We went back and listened to these old songs, and they still give us so much and are still an inspiration for our music.”

Give the eclectic set a spin and also check out a retro snap of the pair below.
