Welcome to #TBT Mixtape, Billboard's new series that showcases artists' very own throwback-themed playlists exclusive to Billboard's Spotify account. The curated set features the artists' favorite tracks from their youth and childhood.

This week's spin comes from Sunflower Bean. The New York trio -- comprised of Julia Cumming, Jacob Faber, and Nick Kivlen -- celebrated the release of their sophomore record Twentytwo In Blue last month via Mom + Pop.

Co-produced by Unknown Mortal Orchestra's Jacob Portrait and Matt Molnar of Friends, the coming-of-age set showcases the breadth of their sonic evolution from their classic rock roots, following their 2016 debut Human Ceremony, which was comprised of tracks written during their teen years.

Today, the rockers look back to their glory days with this week's #TBT Mixtape, inspired by the music that first made them want to be songwriters -- from The Strokes and The Stooges to Mac DeMarco and Cate Le Bon.

"When we think of these songs, we think about the beginnings of the band. When we are all driving to and from the city listening to these songs in the car and getting inspired to write our own music," they share. "A lot of these songs still have a place in our hearts, and we hope they can find a place in yours as well."

Give the retro set a spin and check out some throwback pics of the band below.
