Rihanna Attends Cousin's Funeral in Barbados: 'We Are at Peace Knowing You're in a Better Place'

The new year is off to a somber start for Rihanna. On Tuesday, Rih Rih and her family came together for her 21-year-old cousin Tavon Alleyne’s funeral in Barbados.

Alleyne was shot and killed while walking near his house on Boxing Day, a holiday celebrated the day after Christmas. A 23-year-old man has since been charged with the murder.

After the emotional “celebration” of life, Rihanna posted a dedication to Alleyne on Instagram stories along with a photo of his casket adorned with white flowers.

“Sleep well buddy..we are at peace knowing you’re in a better place than we are. We will always have a void without you, but we will never stop loving you,” she wrote. “Hope you were happy with your going away celebration today.”
