Nike has teamed up with a select group of collaborators to design special versions of the white-on-white colorway of its Air Force 1 shoe in celebration of the model’s 35th anniversary. Among those chosen for the project are Travis Scott, Don C, Virgil Abloh and Roc-A-Fella’s Kareem “Biggs” Burke.

For Burke, the Air Force 1 has been a style staple for over 20 years due to his New York roots. When speaking with Nike about the design, he even noted that in the early days of the record label, he and fellow Roc-A-Fella members would purchase up to 150 pairs at a time, filling up their street team vehicle with the iconic shoe.

In 2000, Nike gifted the crew with exclusive white-on-whites, a legendary moment for Biggs. “All these stores around Harlem, you know, you'd see the Air Force 1, and it's like you're a little kid. Like, 'Man, when I get some money I’m gonna get that.' So, now that our logo was on the sneaker, I mean, it was one of the most special things for us.”

The collaboration is a simple twist on the classic silhouette, featuring the black Roc-A-Fella logo stamped near the heel, and on the tongue and insole. The limited quantity release is available on Thursday (Nov. 30) on a first-come, first-served basis at the newly-opened Sneakeasy in Manhattan and select House of Hoops and Kith locations ($150).
