'This is Us' Star Mandy Moore is Garnier's Newest Ambassador
As though we needed any further proof that the early 2000s are back in full force, allow us to introduce you to the newest ambassador to hair and skin care brand Garnier: Mandy Moore.
Both Moore and Garnier are two household names synonymous with beauty for any young person who grew up in the oughts, so their current collaboration is one that makes perfect sense given the current attention on that decade. However, there’s no way we could call it a comeback for either party. After she rose to prominence with her singing career, Moore transitioned to a film career, that now includes the Emmy nominated TV series she stars in, This is Us. Garnier, of course, has stayed in the same staple hair care position they were always in while simultaneously growing their skincare offering into Korean-inspired products that are flying off the shelves.
Ok... a bit of a confession. I’ve always LOVED changing my hair (as you can see from these photos.. and trust me there are so many more examples) -- but a few years ago, I decided to change my life. From my work, to my friends, to my relationship with myself... It wasn’t easy, but it paid off. So when Garnier asked me to be the new #GarnierGirl, and open up the conversation about transformation in a fearless way, I jumped at the opportunity. I’m really excited to share this with you. And there’s a lot more to come. #ad
But, as this partnership is taking place in the present day, they looked to modernity for the announcement—Moore declared her new position on her Instagram, with a Carousel of some of her hair colors and styles throughout the years. She also revealed her first campaign with the brand: one for their Nutrisse hair color. Moore herself credits her hair transformation to a brunette as something that holds “real significance” for her, so it absolutely makes sense for her first joint effort with the brand to be something with true personal significance.
In a statement to press about the collaboration, Moore professed: “I love to change my hair because, in a world where so much is out of my control, it makes me feel like I’m doing something to shake things up. But it’s deeper than blonde or brunette. It’s about figuring out how to make my outsides reflect my insides, and that takes a little soul searching. I’m thrilled, even a little nervous, to go down that exciting if imperfect, path together with Garnier.” In celebration of this, together they have released a Q&A and a commercial, as well as some behind the scenes images from their campaign.
It’s a common idea that people should in some capacity change their hair when they’re going through a major life event, whether it be a breakup, a career change, or a move to a different place. It seems like Moore and Garnier are interested in helping fans of both do just that.
