Rock the Look: 'RuPaul's Drag Race' Finalist Sasha Velour is a Master at Recreating This Iconic Look
RuPaul's Drag Race Season 9 finale is almost here (Friday, June 23 at 8/7c) and in honor of the finalists, we tapped bad-ass Queen, Sasha Velour, to recreate an iconic musician's signature look. Velour chose Siouxsie Sioux, the gender-bending pop-punk star of 80s British band Siouxsie and The Banshees, whose geometric and angular jet-black eyeliner, coupled with her wild black shag haircut and "gives no fucks" attitude, put the singer on the map. "I first discovered Siouxsie Sioux when I was 12-years-old hanging out with a bunch of goth college kids," Velour says. "Through them [Siouxsie Sioux and the kids], I discovered that you could have hairy armpits and look like a vampire and that was a way to be powerful and femme."
Watch Sasha Velour's powerful recreation of the inspiring singer below, and be sure to tune into the finale this Friday, June 23 at 8 EST/7 Central on VH1 and LOGO.
