Katy Perry's Nails for the Met Gala Bring 'Bling' to a Whole New Level
On Monday night (May 1) at the Met Gala, Katy Perry channeled her inner-Lady Gaga and donned a custom bedazzled John Galliano for Maison Margiela gown and matching bright red veil with "Witness" embroidered across the head.
While the makeup was a stunning display of none other than celebrity makeup artist Pat McGrath's dominating skills (she Instagrammed a sneak peek of the look, using her newest collection DARKSTAR006 in Ultra Violet), we couldn't stop looking at the pop songstress' set of epic nails. While the left hand was left... plain, shall we say? Jamie Mizrahi, Perry's stylist, accessorized the singer's right hand with three emerald-cut diamond rings from L.A.-based jeweler Lorraine Schwartz (the one responsible for Kim Kardashian's engagement rock) that perfectly mirrored the emerald-cut gems embroidered on Perry's cuff as well as her emerald-cut nails.
Perry's mysterious (and super talented) manicurist is still unknown to the public, but the manicure has already gone viral, and it's easy to see why. Perry's nails are studded in gems mimicking shapes found throughout her entire look and are perfectly accented with tiny, jeweled evil eyes also seen on her veil. And with a red lacquer that's basically an identical Pantone match to the singer's gown, we're going to have to say Katy Perry pretty much... nailed it.
