Cardi B initially rose to fame due to her Instagram video realness and addictive personality on Love & Hip-Hop. But in the past year, the rapper/social media mogul has honed another crucial celebrity skill: her style is on-point.
According to an interview with HotNewHipHop, her relationship with the fashion industry hasn’t been easy. “A lot of designers, they did tell me no,” Cardi told HNHH backstage at Fader Fort’s Dream Hotel artist lounge. “They didn’t really wanna work with me. I said to myself, you know what, I’m gonna buy their pieces until they wanna work with me… I’m gonna prove to them that I’m a fashion f---ing icon.”
