Florida Georgia Line's Stylist on the Duo's ACM Awards Look: Exclusive
Before performing their highly anticipated duet “God, Your Mama, and Me” with Backstreet Boys, country duo Florida Georgia Line brought their signature breezy-yet-structured Southern style to the 2017 Academy of Country Music Awards red carpet on Sunday (April 2).
Brian Kelley, 31, who hails from the seaside town of Ormond Beach, Florida, is wearing a custom ocean-blue trim-fit tuxedo jacket with a "dreamy, creamy" piping designed by Manuel Couture. To add a casual chic element to his look, Kelley is wearing a solid black shirt, distressed denim from Hudson Jeans and a pair of suede cinnamon-colored Alexander McQueen shoes. Kelley is wearing his personal Rolex watch, a ring and bracelet from Jason of Beverly Hills and a Tahitian pearl necklace from Florida-based designer Wendy Mignot worn as a bracelet. Finishing off his look is a custom lapel pin with opal and a denim blue feather designed by Gina Ketchum, the duo’s right-hand stylist and groomer since their “Cruise” video dropped in August 2012.
“I think everyone finds style inspiration from where we grew up," Ketchum tells Billboard. "Brian has a bohemian element while Tyler is more refined. At the same time, their individual style easily comes together; whether I use a color, it's all about their style or vibe,” she says.
To create a cohesive group aesthetic, Tyler Hubbard wore a solid cream slim-fit tuxedo jacket with a little bit of texture on the lapel from Tom Ford. To soften the look, he paired a charcoal gray shirt with a cream placket going down the side of the buttons from Eton underneath. His charcoal grey pants are from Italian design house Etro and his black suede Chelsea boots are from Jeffery West. To keep the look streamlined, the Monroe, Ga. singer is wearing his Rolex watch and a necklace and bracelet from Jason of Beverly Hills, which Ketchum favors for the line’s masculine design yet light-weight feel.
On Saturday night, Florida Georgia Line won the single record of the year and vocal event of the year ACM awards for their track "H.O.L.Y" and "May We All," both of which hit No. 1 and No. 2 on the Hot Country Songs chart, respectively. On Sunday, they're nominated in three other categories including entertainer of the year, vocal duo of the year and album of the year.
