The stylists behind some of the most popular music stars today give Billboard the lowdown on high-end kicks this season.
Mikiel Benyamin, stylist to Cardi B, Keke Palmer, and Mario, predicts that for men this season the go-to sneaker will be the Vetements x Reebok InstaPump Fury trainers. “These are very hot right now. They’ve already been worn by Teyana Taylor, South Korean rapper G-Dragon of BIGBANG and other celebs. They're unisex but will be more popular with men."
The fashion industry is capitalizing on nostalgia, and the brands who thrived in the '80s and '90s are fueling the cycle now: Guess, FILA and Reebok. The latter has not only partnered with Vetements; they also tapped rap megastar Future for a collaboration in which he designed his own version of the InstaPump Fury trainers.
The Fear of God Military Sneakers, designed by Jerry Lorenzo, now come in a variety of different colors and are another spring favorite among musicians such as 2 Chainz, Omarion and Future, who has recently been seen in beige and infrared colorways of the red-hot kicks that can sell for upwards of $1000.
