J-pop boy band Snow Man’s second single "KISSIN' MY LIPS" rockets to No. 1 on this week’s Billboard Japan Hot 100, dated Oct. 5 to 11, selling 939,589 CDs in its first week. The new nine-member Johnny’s group led physical sales, look-ups, and Twitter, with points from radio airplay (No. 2) and video views (No. 41) added to the mix to fuel them to the top of the latest tally.

"KISSIN' MY LIPS" sold about 187,000 more CDs than the group’s debut single "D.D." (752,236 copies), meaning the boys have succeeded in expanding their fanbase during the nine-month interim.

NiziU’s "Make you happy" has coasted along in the top ten for 15 weeks now, maintaining momentum in downloads and streaming ever since the group’s pre-debut number was digitally released in June. This week, the track sees downloads increasing slightly from 9,500 to 10,895 units and streaming dipping from 6,020,446 to 5,909,112 streams, and although the figures fluctuate each week in a similar fashion, the nine-member girl group -- yet to make its official debut -- continues to generate enough hype to stay lodged in the upper regions of the Japan song chart.

King Gnu’s long-running hit "Hakujitsu" returns to the top 10 after 14 weeks, powered by streaming, downloads, video, and karaoke points thanks to increased media exposure from around the end of September. The band recently announced an arena tour kicking off in November, and its latest song "Senryoyakusha" is being used in NTT Docomo’s new TV commercial.

Meanwhile, anime singer LiSA’s "Gurenge" also returns to the top 10 for the seventh time, due to the building hype around the new Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba movie opening in Japanese theaters this week.

The Billboard Japan Hot 100 combines physical and digital sales, audio streams, radio airplay, Twitter mentions, YouTube and GYAO! video views, Gracenote look-ups and karaoke data.
