Pikotaro's New Spin on 'PPAP' Promotes Handwashing: Watch Video

The mustachioed viral sensation Pikotaro returns with a timely twist on his earworm from 2016, "PPAP (Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen)," that teaches kids how to wash their hands properly while also having fun.

The alter ego of Japanese comedian Daimaou Kosaka decided to help battle the coronavirus crisis by using his Billboard Hot 100 hit to teach children around the world about proper hygiene.

The new version is even simpler than the original ditty -- "Wash, wash, wash, wash!" is the mantra of 2020 -- and gets the important message across in Pikotaro's quirky way. He also prays for "people and peace" with his clean hands in the end, and reassures us that we can overcome the pandemic together. Watch below:
