J-pop boy band Hey! Say! JUMP's "I am" blasts in at No. 1 on this week's Billboard Japan Hot 100, dated Feb. 24 to March 1. The track led physical sales and look-ups, selling 215,692 copies in its first week.
Official HIGE DANdism's "I LOVE…" holds at No. 2, with figures for streaming (from 7,088,189 to 7,146,456 streams), video views (from 5,627,248 to 6,361,458 plays), and karaoke increasing from the week before. Other metrics for the song have fallen slightly, so it remains to be seen whether this track can hold its current position in the following weeks.
Popular J-pop singer-songwriter aiko made her entire catalog available for streaming last week, launching four of her songs, both old and new, into this week's tally: Her new single, "Aozora," broke into the top 10 at No. 6; her massive hit from 1999 "Kabutomushi" hit No. 12; another hit from 2000 called "Boyfriend" is at No. 89; and "Straw" is at No. 93.
