Japanese karaoke giant Daiichikosho unveiled its top 10 most-sung songs of 2019, and Kenshi Yonezu's "Lemon" was the most popular song on the company's DAM karaoke machines this year so far.
According to the survey, the J-pop hitmaker topped the list of most-sung acts for the second consecutive year. "Lemon" also ruled the weekly ranking for a record 84 weeks straight, from March 18, 2018, to Oct. 26, 2019.
"I'm honored. It feels like such a long time ago that I wrote this song," shared Yonezu upon hearing the news. "Considering that my life will probably go on for some time to come, I'm filled with gratitude that I've been given such a priceless experience." He also thanked fans for choosing his songs despite their relative difficulty: "A lot of my songs are hard to sing, so I feel the love from those who sing them. Thank you so much."
