Holy Smokes, BTS Just Broke Another World Record

BTS has broken yet another world record, as the Guinness World Records organization announced on Wednesday morning (Oct. 23).

The K-pop boy band officially hold the title for the fastest time to reach one million followers on TikTok following the group joining the social media platform on Sept. 25. According to TikTok, BTS accomplished the feat in just three hours and 31 minutes.

The K-pop sensations also currently hold the record for most-viewed YouTube video in 24 hours thanks to the music video for their hit collaboration with Halsey, “Boy With Luv.” The visual, which accumulated 74.6 million views in the day after its release, beat the record previously held by fellow K-pop act Blackpink’s “Kill This Love” by nearly 20 million views.

That’s not all. In the 2020 edition of Guinness World Records, BTS also made history as the first K-pop act to reach No. 1 on the U.S. albums chart with both 2018’s Love Yourself: Tear and this year’s Map of the Soul: Persona.

Congrats, BTS!
